Orange Botanical Gardens - Deborah Faeyrglenn, Underground Conversations
What a lovely surprise to find this art work integrated directly onto the trees and ground at the Orange Botanical Gardens.
The work cleverly illustrates what a trees roots may actually look like, a few feet under the dirt. Deborah has cleverly shown, via a a light weight printed material (muslin?) how a trees network of roots interact with other trees close by.
If you would like to read more information on this fascinating topic, I can recommend you read, or like me, listen to the podcast The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben.
You will not be disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the garden too. It was a stunning day as you will see form the pic below. Well worth a visit.
Perhaps you could listen to it on your walk to the beach!
